Milis Linux is an independently-developed Linux distribution supported by Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey. It is built using the Linux From Scratch (LFS) project and it includes a custom package management utility called Milis Paket Sistemi (MPS). Milis Linux deploys Wayland as the default graphic server with the labwc window-stacking compositor, the Waybar Wayland bar and Sakura terminal emulator to create a functional desktop user interface. 

Milis Linux is a Linux-based operating system project that was started voluntarily in 2016 considering that the domestic operating system works in our country were inadequate and disrupted, and supported as Akdeniz University BAP Project in 2019-2020 and is still under development.

Milis Linux uses its own "Zero Linux" construction technique to capture authenticity. In this direction, it has its own package management system (Milis Package System) and its original applications.

Milis Linux Project is based on open source and national software development principles and is ideally acquainted with increasing the added value of our country in IT.
